In Oneida culture, legend says that the sap from the maple – or wáhta’ in the Oneida language (pronounced “watt”) – was a gift from the Creator for enduring the long and difficult winters common in the northeast. This gift served not only as a food source but also as a boost to the spirit, as it was a sure sign that spring would soon arrive.
At Wáhta’ Maple Farm, true to ancient tradition, we use only syrup harvested from our own forest. With its smooth caramel flavor adding a touch of pure sweetness to every bite, our syrup is a savored pantry staple. A collection of small-batch syrups is available at select locations including Maple Leaf Market, SavOn Convenience Stores, Turning Stone Resort Casino’s General Store and Oneida Heritage, Point Place Casino, YBR Casino & Sportsbook, Sylvan Beach Supply Co. at The Cove and Shako:wi Cultural Center.
